Registration is open for Abibitumi’s Black August Twi language classes and cultural orientation. The eight-class program begins Saturday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m. GMT and is designed to help learners build practical conversational ability.

Who the classes are for
The program is suited to repatriates, Ghana-bound families, heritage learners and anyone who has spent time in Ghana but still wants a structured path into speaking Twi. In-person participants will meet at Jamrock Restaurant at the University of Ghana. Learners elsewhere can join through Zoom.
Ɔbenfo Ọbádéle Kambon brings university-level training in linguistics and a focus on Akan language, including Asante Twi, Akuapem Twi and Fante. The course pairs language instruction with cultural orientation so that learners develop context alongside vocabulary.
